How Do I Get Started?
KisstheBrideNW.com gives you plenty of activities to share your engagement and wedding with your friends, your family, and other well-wishers. You'll become part of a growing online community of other new brides and new brides-to-be, and the site can also be a great place for comparing notes, sharing knowledge and passing on tips. We've designed this site to be extra interactive, so there's plenty of places to talk about anything wedding-related from good local dress shops to how to politely find a place for your fiance's tacky artwork in your personal decor.
But in order to get you started, we need some info from you. So here's a quick run-down of how to access our site and what you need.
- Who you are: tell us about yourself and whether you're newly married or newly engaged. This information will be used in your printed and online engagement or wedding announcement.
- To fully register and have access to more areas of the site, including your own blog and photo galleries, plus a customized registry list, we request a standard payment of $24.99.
- There is a lot of gallery space and blog space at everyone's account where you can create and display your favorite posts and photos. For the more formal poses, like for your announcement, we request permission from the photographer or studio who took your event photos telling us that it's OK to display them on Kiss the Bride NW. Click here to check studios on file or to print a studio release form.
For your announcement photo, make sure it's high enough resolution to look good in the newspaper and online (online-only photos, like from a web site, are generally smaller and may not look as good in print.) Whether you take it yourself or a pro does, we generally request an image of both of you, displaying your upper torsos to your heads.
(As far as technical stuff, photos should be in the JPG format, RGB color) Composition-wise, try to avoid images with red-eye. Have your images be sharp and in focus, not containing busy, confusing backgrounds, and something where both of your heads and eyes are at the same level.
Please note that large images can take a while to upload. Please be patient when uploading photos.
